Without caring host families,
it would not be possible to present the 2021 Children of the World in Harmony
International Youth Choir and Dance Festival.
Therefore, your application to be a host family is of great importance
to us. Our principal concern is that the
festival participants are provided a safe, comfortable and caring environment
during their stay. We thank you for your
generosity and for graciously opening your home and hearts to our festival
participants. Being a host family allows for a uniquely personal Festival
experience, and many lasting friendships have developed between hosts and
guests throughout the years. Hosting responsibilities include providing
lodging, breakfasts, some lunches and dinners, and transportation to and from
rehearsals and performances. This is an investment of time and energy. However, your efforts will be well worth it! We are very concerned for the comfort and safety of our visiting choir members who will come not only from the United States but also from different countries representing a variety of cultures. We ask that families who are willing to host the youth participants take two or more members. This gives them some level of comfort especially if language is a problem. They can turn to each other for support when necessary. Background checks will be required of all host families. Whenever possible, each child should have his or her own bed, even if it is a comfortable mattress on the floor or a cot. They certainly can share a room and a bathroom. Visiting choir and dance groups will arrive on June 20, 2021 and depart on the morning of July 25, 2025 (TBD). Visit FORMS to download an application. The final schedule will be provided one month from the 2021 Festival. |
